Refurbished RO-1 Pumped 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis 50 US GPD (185 Litres) Drinking Water Filter System

Our five stage RO-1 water filter system is a professional under-counter system that helps to reduce harmful contaminants that find their way into groundwater, directly affecting private wells and municipal water systems. It is ideal for under sink point-of-use installation and provides a continuous supply of clean, filtered water that is suitable for drinking.

This system also comes fitted with a high pressure switch used in conjunction with an automatic shut-off valve to eliminate waste by closing the feed line when the tank is full, enabling the system to shut down and conserve power when the water pressure reaches 30 PSI.

Our five stage water filtration system is factory tested and ready to use with connection hardware, tubing, faucet and instruction manual, all of which is designed to make installation and maintenance quick and easy without the need for a plumber.

Stage, Part Number, Component, Function:

  1. PP - 10" sediment cartridge (pre-filter) melt-blown polypropylene. 5 micron sediment filter traps dirt, sediment, rust and other particulate matter.
  2. GAC - 10” granular activated carbon cartridge (pre-filter). Coconut shell granular carbon is used to reduce chlorine, colour, taste, odour, pesticides and volatile organic compounds.
  3. CTO - 10" coconut shell carbon cartridge (pre-filter). Activated carbon block assures high-quality pure water by further reducing chlorine, colour, taste, odour.
  4. 50GPD Membrane - Dual thin film composite reverse osmosis membrane (50 GPD - US Gallons), 0.0001 micron. Semi-permeable membrane removes salts, minerals, metals, bacteria, viruses, cysts, TDS, hardness, fluoride, pesticides, lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic and more.
  5. T33 - In-line carbon cartridge (post-filter). Activated granular coconut shell carbon provides the final polishing and assures great-tasting drinking water.

Important: Do not use with water that is micro-biologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Water filtration systems can help reduce the presence of contaminants. In addition, some water filtration systems can help reduce the presence of micro-organisms or other contaminants that pose potential health risks.

Pump care:

Do not run a pump for more than 4 hours continuously. This is to stop the pump from overheating and becoming damaged. To achieve this, we would suggest installing some form of timer, so that after 4 hours of operation the pump has a 15-30 minute break. This will enable the pump to cool down.

The warranty for the pump would be null and void if no timer is used. If there is an issue with the pump we would ask for evidence of a timer being used to allow the item to be covered by the warranty

Do not allow the pump to run dry (without an active water source) as this will damage the pump. The only time that we would suggest running the pump without an active water supply is if you have a low pressure switch wired into the pump, as this will automatically switch the pump off when the incoming water flow is turned off.

The warranty for the pump would be null and void if used in an application of running dry without a low pressure switch- We will ask for evidence of use of a low pressure switch to receive a warranty replacements of the pump

We suggest that the pumps are permanently mounted. This is to stop any potential for the pump to vibrate and become damaged.

We will ask for evidence of how the pump is mounted for the item to be covered by its warranty.

Please Note: The condition of clearance or refurbished items may vary. This product will be supplied with 3 months warranty from the date of payment.

Clearance or refurbished items may be sold with cosmetic damage including, but is not limited to, noticeable flaws, bent frame, chips or scratches, missing minor components. These will not affect the performance of the unit.

If the product is described as refurbished. This means an item has been repaired following a customer return.

If your item develops a fault within the warranty period, we may offer an exchange for the same, or a similar product, depending on our current stock. If we don’t have stock available for an exchange, a full refund will be processed once the item has been returned.

What should my water pressure be?

Between 1-3 bar. If between 3-4 bar, consider an un-pumped system.

What Gallon-Per-Day (GPD) is this system?

This is a 50GPD system.

How often should I replace the filters?

Change the pre-filters every 6 months or their recommended lifespans (whichever comes first).

  • Average lifespan of particle/sediment filter is 12,000l
  • Average lifespan of gac carbon filter is 15,660l
  • Average lifespan of carbon block filter is 15913l
  • Average lifespan of post carbon filter is 9500l

How often should I replace the membrane?

The membrane should be replaced every 12 months (as long as regular maintenance of the pre-filters is completed, see above).

How quickly does this system make water?

This system produces water at a rate of 7.88 litres per hour (LPH). This is providing that you are running the unit in optimum conditions with the correct water pressure and water temperature.

What is the waste water to pure water ratio of this unit?

This unit has a waste to pure ratio of 3:1, meaning 3 litres of waste water to every 1 litre of pure water (running at optimum conditions).

Troubleshooting steps if the unit isn't working - Initial Checks

  • Check the power to the system
  • Check the water supply to the system
  • Check the power plug is switched on
  • Check the fuse in the plug and check the fusebox
