Printed circuit boards require pure water in many processes within their manufacture, including maintaining the level of the plating bath, mixing solutions such as the alkaline post production cleaning solution, and washing to remove unwanted copper from the board.
Due to the nature of the circuit board, the water used throughout its production is required to be deionised. The extremely low electrical conductivity makes it safe to be applied directly to future electrical connections. The lack of conductive ions within the water, and particles removed pre reverse osmosis, give the board a great finish and reduces the risk of having broken tracks and faulty connections.
