Coolant Filtration

The Engineering processes such lathing, milling, drilling and cutting involve machinery with precise and fast moving parts, engineered for precision work to be carried out. Coolant not only plays a key role within maintaining and extending the service life of the machines, but also will work to achieve a better surface finish of the component being worked on. Without the coolant filtration, old chips will both scratch the new piece when blasted onto it and reduce the tool life in the process.

It is also a common occurrence for the chips to clog up coolant systems due to them being circulated through narrow valves and nozzles. Most systems contain a factory fit filter, but this is usually too fine to effectively remove the bulk of the swarf. It is typical for systems to use particle filtration on recirculated coolant coming from the reservoir, before it reaches the machine bit.
